Yes, it is.

My way of operating is posting and if someone replies that is good, if
not, I just have to figure out another way to get a response/feedback.

Even if people read it, it is not always certain that you will get a
reply.

You can also post to multiple newsgroup, if you want to be sure to get
an reply.

I replied in a somewhat mean way, because it is quite annoying for me to
only get an "are you there?" News, instead of a proper news post.
