    Hi everyone,

I've been on tilde.club for a little while now, so I decided it's a good
time for me to introduce myself here in the newsgroup.

I'm Sporiff. I'm a developer and technical writer from the UK currently
living in Berlin. I mostly work with web technologies these days,
building tools for other writers to ease the process of writing tedious
help pages and manuals. Fun stuff.

Outside of work, I'm one of the maintainers of the Funkwhale project, a self-hosted and federated audio streaming platform. My role is mostly
project vision and documentation since I fear the codebase, but I used
to be a pretty active Vue developer.

I'm also a writer and musician. I mostly stick to just rambling on my
gemlog these days, but I have a long history of blogging and writing
    short stories for fun.

Anyway, nice to be part of the community. I look forward to spending a
lot more time here and away from the dross of the modern web.

Put a link or two on your ~ page?

the dross of the modern web.

Yes, it's getting pretty sad isn't it.

Yeah I probably should write something in there, if only to point people
to where I actively post. Thanks for the suggestion!

    Oooh, cool project!

to be a pretty active Vue developer.

Oh fun. That's what I'm working in most of the time these days.

Stories you say? Have you checked out cosmic.voyage yet? :)

Thanks! I've basically ended up working on it after originally just
failing to install it. Working on it pretty much taught me everything I
know about software at this point.

The original developer has since left, but we have a solid team now and
we're working hard to clean everything up and make new exciting stuff!

Oh fun. That's what I'm working in most of the time these days.

Vue is great. I don't think I'd use any other framework if I needed to
make a web application these days. The ecosystem is just too good.

Are you using Vue for any fun projects, or is it mostly work? (I guess
    these aren't mutually exclusive).

Stories you say? Have you checked out cosmic.voyage yet? :)

I think I briefly glanced at it, but haven't done a deep dive yet. I
don't really write many stories these days because I'm working most of
the time, but I'll take a look and see if I can't get inspired!

    Welcome!

    Thanks!

Mostly work stuff. I do a lot in nuxt with netlify deploys. For fun
projects I usually stay simpler in straight html/css/js, though there is
a slow project I've been brewing that'll use my full vue stack. I've got
an intensive language course starting up in a few weeks, though, so I
think everything will be on hold for the better part of a year.

Nuxt+Vue is a great combo. I'm with you on the smaller personal projects though. I've been through the pain of managing a simple site with a full
npm toolchain. Not exactly a good time.

Good luck with the course. What language are you learning?

It's a year-long university program in practical Icelandic. So exciting!

Boy, you're talented. I, on the other hand, all I do these days is
shoot myself with those irritating, stupid parentheses. I wish I could
Vue a way out of this mess.
