    Computer Scientists seem to have it better than your
    regular engineers, and even them are sucking it big time
    depending on where they land.

    Well.. there is Computer Engineering that would fall into that
    mix. I would think that jobs surrounding data security would
    be in high demand.

    But I could agree that there may indeed be only a handful of
    engineering categories that would be guaranteed long-term
    successes.

    The issue with Engineers is a single fat dude with an adiction to junk food can control 6 000 PLCs from an armchair.

    The number of actual engineers you need for a given operation is usually very low. The fat guy of the PLCs is making lots of kilobucks but he is going to be the only one. The rest of the Engineers in the classroom are going to be working under they qualification.

    Last time I applied for being a fat dude who ate junk food while controlling 6 000 PLCs there were 300 candidates within 1 hour of the job offer being posted. There was a single vacancy. The fact I even managed to make it to the interview is a feat in itself.
