    Hello All,

We're expecting severe weather tonight here at HQ. There's a chance of tornadic activity but that is more south and west of us, such as Chattanooga and that area. There's some pretty strong thunder rolling in right now.

I may be forced to shut down the BBS tonight so if there's no mail, that's why.

For those that don't know, I do have a Facebook page about Micronet and will update on there since I can access it via my phone. Just look for "Micronet Information Network".

    I'll keep everyone posted.

    Later,

Hoping so. The greatest danger is between 8 PM and 2 AM (0100 and
0700 UTC I believe) right now. So far, it's been raining and then
    drizzling on and off.

Yep, all was well. Lots and lots of rain, some strong thunder at times, and some good lightning occasionally but nothing. It was south Middle and West Tennessee that got it bad.

    .DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

...Severe Storms Late this Afternoon and Evening...

A band of showers and thunderstorms will move across the area late
this afternoon and early tonight. Some of these storms may be
severe, with damaging winds the primary threat. However, isolated
tornadoes are possible as well, especially across the Plateau and
southeast Tennessee. There is also a threat for isolated large
    hail.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday

...Wintry Conditions Return across the Mountains Friday and
    Saturday...

A storm system with unseasonably cold air will move into the
southern Appalachians for Friday and Saturday. Widespread showers
can be expected with the air mass becoming cold enough to change
the rain to snow across the higher elevations, generally above
3000 feet. Light snow accumulations are anticipated across the
highest elevations, such as the Smoky and Roane Mountains of east
Tennessee, and High Knob in Virginia. Snowfall of 1 to 3 inches
are expected, generally at or above 4000 feet.

There were hailstorms in north Arkansas overnight. More storms arrive
Monday through next Wednesday. I'll bet when summer arrives, we won't
be able to buy a drop of rain.

We were inside walmart when it hit our area. Power went out
lights didn't work but the cash registers did. LOL Were able to
cash out and leave once they checked reciept and the rain died down
    a bit.

Drove out to the woods but no electricity there so that means no
water as well (As the park pumps the water using electric pumps).
Had a bunch of food with us for the fridge / freezer there as such
had to turn around and come home. Typical May 24 long weekend,
    always bad weather. lol

Depends. If there's s lot of lightning involved, yes. I lost $3000 worth of amateur radio equipment to a lightning strike six miles from my house; the lightning strike traveled down electrical wires and fried the finals in my radios.

Since I don't have any UPS equipment, it's better to be safe than sorry.
