    Hello Jay!

    The whole technology is over-priced.

We're now paying $101.99 /mo for the internet + $10 /mo for the modem, so $111.99 /mo plus taxes ($126.55 tax total). (The modem was free for the first two years).

Yep, overpriced. But we're letting Bell get away with it.

A friend of mine has the Rural Net package from Bell (a small
cellular-based receiver attached to a pole/extender at the side
of his home. He get's the "unlimited" package ..and I set up
his Samsung TV to connect via wi-fi and use the built-in TV
browser; it's not a bad solution. But I still think this "data"
tech is overpriced for what it delivers. He's paying over
    $100/mo too.

Bell recently ran fibre down our street and knocked on my door..

I was happy to sign to have them install, but they have yet to do so.

    Recently as in post-lockdowns?

Though from what I understand Bell Fibe doesn't yet support IPv6..

Hmmm.. That sounds unusual. I didn't know that.

Yeah, this was just in August/September that they were digging/drilling on the street and late September when they were asking permission from all of the residents to run fiber into their homes.

I'm hoping that it might me a regional thing. We're in a smaller suburb where the fastest we can get here is "only" 1Gb up & down. My father-in-law lives a 12 minute drive away and can get 3Gb up & down. So maybe different areas have different options available (like multi-gigabit and/or IPv6)?
