It's old, it's flash, it's not secure and I can see all your passwords so
don't use anything you normally would. LOL

Ha! We have that stupidity up here too. I laugh whenever I see them.

It was explained to me once that there may be a good chance that they "live amongst us", blending in for the purposes of studying either us or other species. With the way we are slowly lowering expectations in the name of equity and inclusion and thus lowering our collective IQ... they probably hold us just one rank above flinging fecal matter. Wouldn't surprise me if they actually had much higher respect for wildlife.

Given how many weird people I encounter in daily life - and I mean WEIRD... just freaking weird... I believe this theory.

had $2 admission on Tuesdays. We'd get in early and hop from theater to

Have to argue with you on this one. Picked up a passenger the other day
who told me he shit himself due to food poison. He was also puking
his guts out in the seat beside me into a vomit bag. Even with the
window open the smell was getting to me, I put a mask on and I would
say it cut the smell by 99%. We have the paper 4 layer ones at work.

So the masks DO IN FACT protect you from smelling a fart.

I will go on record and say I do wear a mask whenever I have passengers
even ones who don't shit themselves. However when driving alone or
even grocery shopping I don't bother with one anymore.

So the masks DO IN FACT protect you from smelling a fart.

I will go on record and say I do wear a mask whenever I have passengers
even ones who don't shit themselves. However when driving alone or
even grocery shopping I don't bother with one anymore.

go on amazon and get yourself some carbon for aquariums. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0002566WY

    stuff carbon into these!
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07WS5NPP4

now put that shit under your mask.
    THAT will filter!

Now, MBSE offers SSH logins but that's because it runs under an OS that supports it easily and it's not an add-on. I couldn't tell you the last
time I even physically logged into my server.

Even to make ANSI screens, I cheat. I installed sshfs (allows me to mount drives via ssh as if they were a part of my computer's file system) and in DOSbox, I mount that sshfs directory as a drive letter. So now I can
easily modify ANSI screens using TheDraw under DOSbox.

    Work smarter, not harder. <G>

    Absolutely.

Heck, I have been watching a lot of old movies from the 50s as of late and you can
tell they may lack the budget and the technological means, but they have much more
attention to detail and love pured in them.

Then there is the legion of cheap Wuxia movies. THe less we talk about them, the

On the other hand, there are lots of acceptable movies being made out of the Hollywood

I think so. Comparisons to the Twilight Zone are not always fair to it.
Rod Serling did write for both, and hosted both, but he had a lot less creative input and control over NG vs. TZ. The producers wanted it to be a different show, and it was. So it was not as good as TZ but was still good.

Also, some folks watch NG in syndication now and see the old "Sixth Sense" episodes (which was, in first run, a totally different show with no
connection to Serling). They think those are NG episodes and get the wrong impression that NG is all about ESP and paranormal stuff. A few of those episodes are not bad, either (one with Joan Crawford, and another with a
young Victoria Principal, come to mind) but most of them were no where near
as good as Night Gallery episodes.

You think a mask filters out the oxygen? Really?

If you're wearing a N95 or N100 mask, yes. Otherwise, not really in
healthy adults. Surgical masks aren't designed to keep viruses and
bacteria out; they're meant to make sure solids don't get splashed in.

I used to clean patient rooms at my local VA hospital. If people knew
about how dirty hospitals really are, they'd never go in there. That's
why I chuckle at the masks...you're more likely to get infected from
things on your skin than direct inhalation...even so, you'd need to
stand 20+ feet from everyone if you really were worried about it.[1]

It's funny, for being someone who should have died after contracting SARS-CoV-2, I feel just fine...and I've only had it once. Then again, I
didn't get the shot, so I'm at a lot lower risk of catching it again.

I must have a sensitive nose, because I can still smell people's cologne, and bad breath if they are close enough to me - right through the paper masks that they used at my work.

The only thing I have ever worn that stopped all smells are those 3M Auto Paint Respirators. I have used those in the past when putting undercoating on vehicles or painting them. Auto paint is extremely strong smelling and can't be good to breethe.
The issue with those things is I feel like I can't get enough air in them, so I have to constantly take them off.

I have also used the n95 masks when doing massive drywall sanding, which is a must. That white dust goes everywhere and no one wants that in their respiritory system.

i dont care if people still wear masks, or if they wear them on their dicks. what people did to other people during the covid scare was horrible. we were one step away from nazi germany. people lost their businesses, people were physically attacked. this happened in almost all of the countries.

i remember in australia a woman wasnt wearing a mask outside in a park and she had a doctor's note. 2 police officers mauled her on the dirt and exposed her bottom half to the public crowd that was watching for entertainment.

The company i worked at for 17 years threw us under the bus and HR took the masks home with them to use with their famlies. they fired tons of people and gave the rest of us a paycut. Office people got to 'work at home' aka do nothing and drink during working hours.

People killed their own family members out of hate or trying to spare them. Tons of suicides.

I dont give a shit about masks, just as long as nobody is forcing anybody
else. What we really need to talk about all the time is what people did to eachother. if it happened once it will happen again if we don't learn.

If one writes "Death to America" the staff lets it go...

If the BBS sysop were to hire ex-Twitter employees, they could certainly implement that feature.

Sounds cool but I'm not quite a bitrate-snob. :) grainyness is what made a lot of those shows "cool" to watch.

There is no question I have become a bitrate-snob. Even when it comes to audio, these days.

After looking at some of the 8k TVs in Best Buy and drooling all over the floor, I started refreshing my archives.

For some of the newer shows, I try to find 2160p/4k for the drooling factor.

Had a hard time a few years ago getting Dallas, Dynasty, and most of the original Dr. Who episodes.

One of the shows I still have a difficult time finding in decent quality is Happy Days. You would think they would have re-mastered that show by now to something better than 480p.

I dont give a shit about masks, just as long as nobody is forcing anybody else. What we really need to talk about all the time is what people did
    to eachother.
if it happened once it will happen again if we don't learn.

Freedom was trampled on - which should never be allowed to happen again. Period.

Three years ago if you walked into a bank wearing a mask, security would have tackled you.

i believe in places like virginia it was illegal to wear a face mask.
    i wonder if it reverted.

"Virginia Code § 18.2-422 prohibits anyone over age 16 from wearing any mask, hood, or other device that hides a substantial portion of the face or conceals the identity of the wearer, if this is done with the intent to conceal one's identity."

    then i see this

"Is it illegal to wear a mask in Virginia on Halloween?
Violation of the law is a Class 6 felony that could land you in prison. There are, however, several exceptions: medical masks or protective masks are legal, as well as Halloween costumes and masks worn for a "bona fide theatrical production or masquerade ball.""

so the intent is where they can hit you with the felony.

Interesting. My bank does not disallow facemasks, but they do have a sign
on the door that says you must remove all hats, hoods, and some other
things. I guess they are thinking if you are going to wear a mask over
part of your face, they want to be able to see the rest of your head.

Removing hats would not go over well for folks in the winter
time, or for distinguished ladies and gentleman wearing hats.

    LOL.

Thankfully, wearing a mask is optional now. The tellers are
still separated from the public with large plexiglass barriers
    though.

Banks here would have you stand at the other side of the door and have you remove your mask so they would only let you in after seeing their face.

There are still things they force you to do here in person, and sometimes it is much better to do it in person even if you can do them online.

You can buy lots of consumer-grade finantial products from the bank's onlike banking system and talk to a bank asistant over the phone for most common stuff, and you'd be silly to want to walk to the bank office for doing any of those. If you want to purchase a non-consumer grade finantial product from a Private Banking branch, the game is completely different.
