I'm excited. I read it's "the most wes anderson" of all wes anderson
movies. I'm OK with that. I'm in that cult. Hell, I even liked his GAP television commercial from a while back, and I hate ads :)

Never heard of his movies. Why would they be compelling?

I like The Royal Tenenbaums best. Some of Gene Hackman's best work.

Anderson's films in general have a very distinctive slow-burn style about them. It really worked well in Tenenbaums, but tends to be grating in his others. The Life Aquatic, for example, started out strong, but didn't hold my interest after the first 30 minutes.

There's a new one coming out.

Just looked it up: The French Dispatch. Looks interesting, will probably see it.

Sorry I missed these replies for some reason. The new one is called
the French Dispatch .. Something about some people at a newspaper.
I've been avoiding reading anything about it until I watch it.

No action or anything.. Usually the movies are dialogue-driven and
artsy fartsy/hoity toity :). If you're into that sort of thing.

I think my favorite of his is Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou.
