Put the crabapples in a big bowl with warm water and roughly scrub
them by the handful. Get a cutting board and paring knife. Pull a
crabapple out of the bowl. Do two cuts, visually inspecting for
quality. Cut off the very top with the stem, then cut the crabapple
in half. Now and then, empty the tops into the compost and the halves
into the crockpot. Continue until completely processed.
Cook on high for 2 to 3 hours. Use a ladle to scoop the cooked
crabapples into a sieve. Press them through the sieve into a bowl to
remove the seeds. Put crabapple sauce in a jar. Compost the pulp.
