3 1/2 c Flour
1 1/2 ts Salt
4 ts Baking powder
2/3 c Shortening
1/2 ts Soda
1 1/2 c Buttermilk
Heat oven to 450 F.
In a large bowl, mix dry ingredients; cut in shortening. Gently stir
in buttermilk, only until mixed.
Turn dough onto a floured board. Knead lightly 10 times. Roll 1/2 inch
thick, cut out with floured biscuit cutter and place on ungreased
baking sheet. Bake 10 to 12 minutes, or until nicely browned.
