    19 May 1935 - LAWRENCE DIES FAR FROM ARABIA: Having survived almost
    suicidal risk in the Arabian Desert fighting alongside Arabs battling
    Turks, a capture and torture, and a plane crash in Egypt, ex-British
    Army officer T.E. Lawrence, 46, finds death among the quiet hedgerows of Dorset, England, after crashing his motorcycle.

    Yield: 6 servings

    4 lb Chicken; cut up
    1 lg Onion; chopped
    1 md Eggplant; sliced, salted
    1 md Cauliflower; in bite-size
    - florets
    1 1/2 c Rice
    3 c Chicken broth
    1 ts Chilli spice mix
    1 ts Turmeric powder
    3 tb Extra virgin olive oil
    2 tb Pine nuts
    2 tb Coriander leaves chopped
    1 ts Baharat spice mix or garam
    - masala

    Heat the olive oil on a medium heat in a frying pan Add
    the chopped onions and saute, stirring frequently, until
    they are softened and almost translucent, about 10 min.
    Add chicken pieces to the onion pan, and sprinkle
    liberally with salt and spices. Brown the meat on both
    sides.

    In a deep pot or dutch oven , sprinkle a few tablespoons
    of rice evenly at the bottom. Transfer the browned
    chicken pieces and sauteed onions to this pot, on top of
    the thin layer of rice.

    In the frying pan, saute the eggplant slices and then
    add them to the deep pot on top of the chicken in an
    even layer.

    Saute cauliflower florets and add as the next layer.

    Cover mixture with rest of the rice, then pour broth
    over the top, and season dish with salt and pepper.

    Cover the pot with its lid, and cook over low heat for
    about 40 minutes

    Once cooked,allow the dish to cool for 10 min before
    opening the lid.

    Place a large serving plate squarely on top of the pot
    and turn the chicken and rice upside down onto the
    serving dish.

    Garnish with toasted pine nuts and freshly-chopped
    cilantro.

    03 September 1935 - A SPEED DEMON TAKES TO THE SANDS OF BONNEVILLE" Sir
    Malcolm Campbell, Britain's land-speed record holder, straps in to his
    sleek 28-foot, 2,500-horsepower vehicle, named 'Blue Bird,' and streaks
    across Utah's Bonneville Salt Flats, becoming the first person to drive
    an auto over 300 mph.

    Major Sir Malcolm Campbell MBE (11 March 1885 - 31 December 1948) was a
    British racing motorist and motoring journalist. He gained the world
    speed record on land and on water at various times, using vehicles
    called Blue Bird, including a 1921 Grand Prix Sunbeam. His son, Donald Campbell, carried on the family tradition by holding both land speed and
    water speed records.

    Title: Sweet Bluebird's Creamy Ranch Chicken
    Categories: Poultry, Cheese, Herbs, Sauces, Vegetables
    Yield: 5 servings

    4 Boned, skinned chicken
    - breasts
    2 tb Butter; melted
    10 3/4 oz can cream of chicken soup
    8 oz Cream cheese; diced
    1/2 c Chicken broth
    1 oz Env Hidden Valley Ranch
    - dressing mix
    1/4 ts Minced garlic
    ds Paprika
    1/8 ts Dried oregano
    1/4 ts Dried parsley flakes

    Wash and dry chicken breasts and place them evenly in
    crock pot. Sprinkle with paprika.

    Sprinkle pkg. of Hidden Valley Ranch salad dressing mix
    over chicken.

    Drizzle chicken breasts with 1 tablespoons melted butter.

    Cover and cook on Low for 4 hours.

    Melt remaining 1 tablespoon butter in a medium saucepan
    along with minced garlic and saute slightly.

    Add cream of chicken soup, the 8 oz. of cream cheese
    cubes, 1/2 cup chicken broth, dried Oregano and dried
    Parsley flakes. Stir on medium heat until smooth.

    Add mixture to crock pot, cover again and continue to
    cook on low for 1 1/2 hours to 2 hours.

    Thin slice the chicken, serving it over rice or noodles
    with the sauce and a side of steamed broccoli.

    Serves: 4 - 6
