Both Mount & Do and its clone Mello Yell-o are nasty in my opinion.

Both are clones of Ski, except Ski has (some) real lemon and orange
juice in it. I think it is better than both of the others but if you don't like citrus sodas in general you probably won't like it. IMHO,
it is crisper and not as syrupy as the others, especially the glass
    bottle version.

I enjoy citrus beverages. I keep a jug of lemon juice on hand to add a
shot to my ice water (my main beverage). And we used to have a local
bottling company "Whistle Beverages" which made Bubble-Up and Whistle
Orange soda. I drank a lot of both. Whistle orange is currently produced
by Vess and no around here carries Vess products because their cola is
nasty to the max. I understand Bubble-Up (the "Billion Bubble Beverage")
    is still in production somewhere.

I've been doing diet soda since before I was diagnosed as mextra-sweet.
But if I do drink fully-leaded soda it's either Mexican Coke (which a
couple stores here carry) or Kosher for Passover Coke (yellow caps) in season .... and avoid that nasty HFCS.

I like to avoid the HFCS also but it is difficult as it is in so many things these days. :(

In a rare moment of watching the glass teat (for the Miami F1 race) I
saw the Burpsie Cola has a new sugar-free calle Pepsi Zero which I may
try. Coke Zero is quite nice. If Pepsi hasn't done to their Zero sugar
product what the did to Pepsi One - made it so heavy on artificial that
it was both sickeningly sweet and had a bitter aftertaste ... they may
    have a wwinner.

Put seared roast in roasting pan and spread the Golden

    while this slow cooking.

The liquids/drippings from this roast makes a wonderful
gravy to pour over homemade egg noodles!!

The last I knew, you could get Bubble-Up in parts of Southern Indiana that
are served by a local Dad's Root Beer bottling franchise.

I've not seen Vess, Dad's Old Fashion Root Beer, Hires Root Beer or even
IBC Root Beer in my area for a really long time. It seems to be all Coke, Pepsi, or 7-Up/Dr. Pepper/A&W.

I quite like their Dr. Pepper/Cream Soda combination ... but it's hard
to find sometimes as it sells out quickly.

    Title: Hires Home-Brewed Root Beer
    Categories: Five, Beverages
    Yield: 50 bottles

    3 oz Hires extract
    4 lb White sugar
    4 3/4 ga Water
    1/2 ts Yeast
    1 pt Warm water

Pour extract over 4 lbs of sugar. Mix well. (Vary
amounts of sugar and extract to taste).

Dissolve mixture in 4 3/4 gallons of lukewarm water.

Mix 1/2 tsp of dry active yeast in a pint of lukewarm
water. Allow to stand 5 minutes. Stir well and strain
through cheesecloth. In cool weather (under 70-|F) double
the amount of yeast used. In hot weather (over 90-|F) cut
    the amount in half.

Add the yeast mixture to the solution of sugar, extract,
and water. Mix well and pour into sterilized bottles
immediately. Fill bottles to within 1/2 inch of the top
to minimize spoilage caused by excess air. Cork bottles
securely or seal with crown or stopper.

Place bottles on their sides in warm place(70-80) until
effervescent. (If set in a cool place immediately the
beverage will sour and remain flat.) The product should
be ready to drink in about 5 days (longer in cooler
weather.) Move the bottles to a cool place. Refrigerate
just before drinking. The beverage will have a slight
yeast flavor and contain some sediment. Do not filter.

For best results - use only returnable type carbonated
    beverage bottles.

Just had one of these Monday. It was quite good. Saw it at the gas
station and bought as an impulse, I'll buy it again!
