Chocolate or Peanut Butter Magic Shell There is something about cracking through a sweet candy shell that's just, well, magical. To make a chocolate shell, you need seven ounces of roughly chopped chocolate--any chocolate--and two tablespoons of coconut oil. Combine the two in a double boiler or in a sauce pan over very low heat, stir until smooth, pour on top of ice cream, and get to cracking. For the peanut butter shell, combine half a cup of smooth peanut butter with a quarter of a cup of coconut oil and microwave in 30 second intervals until smooth. (If you have any leftovers, store them in the fridge and reheat them in the microwave before each use.)

    Yum :)

Welcome back stranger. Haven't seen you on Phydeaux for a while. Have
you re-opened your BBS? If so I'll probably be a regular caller. Still

Here's a recipe that covers both your chocolate and your peanut butter
    magic.

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06

    Title: Buckeyes
    Categories: Candy, Chocolate, Nuts, Rice
    Yield: 24 Servings

    1/4 lb Butter; softened
    1 lb Powdered sugar
    2 c Chunky peanut butter
    3 c Rice Krispies cereal
    12 oz Chocolate chips
    1/3 Bar paraffin or wax

Thoroughly mix the butter, powdered sugar, chunky peanut
butter and the Rice Krispies together. Separately, melt
the chocolate chips and your choice of wax or paraffin
together using a double boiler. If no double boiler is
available, microwave the chocolate mix until it has melted
and no further. Make small balls of peanut butter mixture
and dip into chocolate mix. Let dry on waxed paper.

Well, maybe. First Malware Bytes spit up on it as being a "Trojan". Then
I got an immediate disconnect which I suspect is caused by my term

    How are you on cherries?

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06

Title: Better Than Store Bought Chocolate Covered Cherries
    Categories: Fruits, Chocolate, Dairy
    Yield: 25 Cherries

    3 c Powdered sugar
    1/4 c Butter
    1/4 c Condensed sweetened milk;
    - not evaporated
    4 ts Canilla extract
    pn Salt
12 oz Bag good quality chocolate
    - chips (milk, semi-sweet,
    - or dark)
    14 oz (400 g) jar maraschino
    - cherries; drained, dried,
    -juice reserved

Start by making a fondant - simply combine the first
five ingredients until smooth and not sticky. Chill in
    fridge for an hour.

Line a baking sheet with wax paper and spread cherries
out in a single layer - stems on, if possible. Freeze
    for an hour.

When ready to make your chocolate covered cherries,
remove fondant and cherries from the fridge/freezer.
Since it takes a bit of time to make these, I remove
only a few cherries and a bit of fondant at a time so
that they don't get too warm and sticky.

Wrap each cherry in 1-2 teaspoons of the fondant,
forming a tight ball. Return cherries to tray and freeze
    again for an hour.

Use either the microwave or a double-boiler to melt your
chocolate. Thin it down with enough reserved cherry
juice to get the proper consistency for dipping.

Removing a few fondant-wrapped cherries from the freezer
at a time, dip them in the chocolate and coat
completely. Let the excess chocolate drip off, then
put the cherry on wax paper to rest. Dab a bit of extra
chocolate on top to cover any hole left from the
    toothpick.

When done, place dipped cherries in the fridge to set.
Store in an airtight container in the fridge as well. If
you let them be for a few days, the center with be nice
and liquidy... but they're good right away too!

    4 tb (45 g) self raising flour
    4 tb (55 g) caster sugar
    2 tb (17 g) cocoa powder
    1 lg Egg
    3 tb (43 ml) milk
3 tb (25 ml) sunflower oil
    3 tb Chocolate chips
    sm Dash of vanilla extract
lg Pinch of dried chile *

    * You could use ground chile powder or replace the choc
chips with chile chocolate. You could also use more or
less chile depending on your tastebuds.

Add dry ingredients (including chile) to a large coffee
mug, and mix well. Add the egg and mix thoroughly Add
the milk and oil - mix well (don't forget the corners /
edges of the mug). Add the chocolate chips (if using)
and vanilla extract, and mix again Put your mug in the
microwave and cook for 3 minutes (in an 800 watt
    microwave).

The cake will rise above the top of the mug, but don't
worry it's supposed to! Allow to cool a little, tip out
    onto a plate.

EAT and enjoy - this can serve two - it's a huge portion
    for one!

    ===BreadMachine Lemon
    Pound Cake===
    3 large eggs, beaten
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, melted (and cooled) 1/3 cup milk
    2 tablespoons lemon juice
    2 cups all-purpose flour
    1 tablespoon baking powder
    1 cup granulated sugar
    2 tablespoons lemon zest

    For the Lemon Glaze:
(I usually leave this cake plain with no glaze...) 1/2 cup powdered sugar
    1 tablespoon lemon juice

    INSTRUCTIONS
Add cake ingredients to bread machine in order recommended by manufacturer, or follow the order in the ingredient list.

Select the setting on your bread machine for non-yeasted breads (cake). (Check the manual if you aren't sure which one to use.)

Choose "medium" crust, if your machine has a crust setting.

    Then, hit "start."

When the "add ingredients" beep chimes, after the first mixing, open the lid, and use a rubber spatula to scrape down any flour on the sides of the pan. Then, close the lid, and allow the machine to continue.

Once the cake is done, open the lid, and remove the bread pan with pot holders. Allow it to cool for 10 minutes.

Then, turn the pan upside down, and carefully shake the cake out. Allow the cake cool completely.

While you're waiting for the cake to finish cooling, make the lemon glaze if using, by stirring the powdered sugar and lemon juice together, until smooth.

I mostly use mine through the dough cycle then put the dough in a "regule"
loaf pan(s) and finish in the oven. Or, make long, narrow loaves like

    ===BreadMachine Lemon
    Pound Cake===

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06

Title: Bread Machine Crusty French Bread
    Categories: Breads
    Yield: 2 loaves

    1 1/2 c Room temperature water
1 tb Vegetable or olive oil; more
    - for baking
    2 tb Dry milk
    2 c A-P flour; more as needed
    2 c Bread flour
    2 ts Sugar
    2 ts Salt
    2 ts Active dry yeast
    2 tb Medium-grind cornmeal; for
    - baking
    1 lg Egg white
    1 tb Cold water

Add the room temperature water, oil, dry milk, A-P
flour, bread flour, sugar, salt, and yeast to the bread
machine according to your manufacturer's preferred
    order.

Use the French bread setting on your machine but remove
the dough after the last kneading cycle before the
baking cycle begins. Or use the dough cycle, punch down
the dough to let air escape, let it rise again (45
minutes to 1 hour), knead lightly, and let it rise again
(another 45 minutes to 1 hour) before forming into
    loaves.

Spray or lightly oil a large cookie sheet and sprinkle
    with the cornmeal.

To form the loaves, transfer the dough (it will be soft)
to a lightly floured board. Sprinkle with a little
    all-purpose flour.

Cut the dough into 2 portions and roll each portion into
a rectangle about 12 to 15 inches wide (add more flour
    as needed).

Starting at the long end, roll up the dough, pinching
the seams well. Repeat with the next roll.

Place the loaves on the prepared cookie sheet; cover
with a clean dishtowel and let rise another hour.

While the loaves are rising, set the oven @ 400-|F/205-|C.
Place a pie plate on the lower rack of the oven and add
about 1" of boiling water. Place the pan with the dough
on the middle rack and bake the bread for 15 minutes.

Lower the heat to 350-|F/175-|C and bake for another 25
    minutes until golden brown.

About 5 minutes before the loaves are done, mix the egg
white with the cold water in a small bowl and brush the
    loaves with the egg wash.

Once baked, remove from the oven and let cool.
