Dave, thanks for the tip about Amaryl. Researching... By the way, my

My croaker was the chair of the Department of Internal Medicine at out
local medical school and he had me on several different meds for the over
the top blood sugars - glucophage, metformin (makes you fart), glucovance, amaryl, etc.

younger brother completly reversed his diabetes with keto. He doesn't
even see the diabetes doc any more because his condition no longer
exists. He lost 180 pounds and of course eats small and normal meals
now. Still very little carbs. Absolutely no surgary drinks or
artificial sugar of any type. Coming up on 10 years now so it's working for him. I was on 3 insulin shots per day plus Trulicity once a week.
On keto, I take no shots and no meds even though I have not yet lost enough weight to call mine reversed. Working on it. I go to the premier diabetics center in SC, have been for 25 years. They just treated the symptoms not the diabetes. I put myself on keto and I'm a lot better
for it now. My diabetes doc is even on Keto now although she didn't
advise me to go on it. Keto isn't magic but it can be a good tool for
some people I think. Depending on the med's you're on, you can lower
your sugar too much though so everyone should be careful on Keto.

I was on a combination of amaryl and metformin when a low blood sugar
snuck up on me and I woke up on my kitchen floor and could not get up.
I found my wireless phone in the wreckage and called 911, giving them
the old line from the commercial "Help, I've fallen ... " They 911 lady
was still on the phone with me when the firemen and paramedics came in
the door. They stuck a bag of glucose in my arm and when I got to the
E.R. my sugar was all the way up to 75.

As a result of that episode they had me ditch the metformin and cut the
Amaryl dose in half - down to 4 mg. Then after looking at the blood work
from my next visit halved it again to 2 mg.

I darned sure don't want to repeat that diabetic coma episode. I have
found that the web site from which I got this recipe to be a good tool
in my battle with blood sugars. Abnd most of the recipes are tasty.
