3 c All-purpose flour
2 1/2 ts Baking soda
1 ts Salt
2 1/2 ts Cinnamon
1 ts Nutmeg
1/4 ts Ground cloves
1 c Sugar
1 c Vegetable oil
1 c Molasses
1 c Black Butte Porter
Butter and flour a 9x9-inch cake pan. Combine all dry ingredients in a
bowl. In a separate bowl, combine liquid ingredients. Slowly add
liquid to dry ingredients mixing well and pour into prepared pan.
Place in a preheated 350 degree F oven for 40 - 50 minutes. Check
center of cake with a toothpick. It should come out clean. Serve with
vanilla ice cream and Black Butte Porter, of course!
