  • COVID-19 Christmas

    I wonder what Christmas will be like on a COVID-19 year. First ever of its kind. Thank God this year's almost over. It was a real crappy one for
    everyone in the world. Hopefully 2021 will clear the way for some better times ahead. We can only and pray.

    In a way it was kind of a great year for me, actually... haha...

    As for what Christmas will be like, I can't say, but I can say this much - if people want to do Black Friday shopping they had better plan to not be around for Christmas.

    While challenging at times, it hasn't been a bad year for me either. Sure, had some important (to me) stuff cancelled, but also some new life opportunities and rediscovered my ham radio hobby. :)

    As for Christmas, I suspect that will be another thing that's not affected for me, as we normally have a quiet Christmas at home, which the pandemic won't affect.

    If Easter can be looked at as any kind of indication, Christmas will be
    a more reverent affair for most Christian families. Online services and celebrations are already being planned and with this much lead time
    churches are pulling out all the stops.

    During Easter season churches saw a big bump in online giving and I think
    that will be the same for Christmas.

    As for the shopping, parties and gift exchanges - online shopping is going
    to be key this year. Just like the churches, retailers are planning for
    the season and we should see a ramp-up in pull/pick jobs for warehouses
    as well as delivery companies.

    It'll be just fine.

    I couldn't care less. I got burned out on the holidays many years ago, for all the commercialism (Christmas stuff was up in July, and Easter stuff was
    up before Christmas).

    I don't go to Christmas parties, put up decorations, go to Christmas or Easter church cantatas, etc.

    As for better times, I feel that far worse days are ahead for the world,
    and for America. To me, the only way it'll get better is after The Second Coming of Christ.
