So I'm not sure how I got into this situation, but I thought you might like to know.
What was happening, that everytime sbbsecho ran, it added 2 lines to my areas.bbs:
spt_sportsne SPORTSNET_ADMINISTRATION 24:24/1
spt_generals GENERAL_SPORTSNET_CHAT 24:24/1
I have this 30-40 times...
In my log, everytime sbbsecho ran, it added
2020-05-20 06:54:30 DUPLICATE AREA (SPORTSNET_ADMINISTRATION) in area file (../data/areas.bbs), IGNORED!
2020-05-20 06:54:30 DUPLICATE AREA (GENERAL_SPORTSNET_CHAT) in area file (../data/areas.bbs), IGNORED!
And then...
2020-05-20 06:54:30 Adding sub-board (spt_sportsne ) to Area File with uplink 24:24/1, tag: SPORTSNET_ADMINISTRATION
2020-05-20 06:54:30 Adding sub-board (spt_generals ) to Area File with uplink 24:24/1, tag: GENERAL_SPORTSNET_CHAT
(So on the next subsequent run, there was 4 "Duplicate area" messages and 2 "adding sub-board messages", and then 6 and 2, and then 8 and 2 - I think you get what I'm saying...)
The cause of this was I had already previously defined SPORTSNET_ADMINISTRATION and GENERAL_SPORTSNET_CHAT previously - and their short name as SPT_ADMIN and SPT_CHAT respectively. I imported the SPORTSNET.NA file, which obviously added the 2 echo's a second time, but in AREAS.BBS, they were mapped to those (same) long echo names (hence the duplicate).
Anyway, I think you might need some checking somewhere so that before adding a sub-board to the area file, that you check that it already exists?
