I think it would be fun to do sometime. We're often focused on the RAC winter contest here, but that's certainly not quite the same deal as the Field Day concept.

    Do you participate?

I've done a few quick contacts for WFD in the past, but haven't done a full-fledged effort. I might try this year. I'm working through most of the holiday season and this might be a good way to unwind if I can get the days off for it.

Well good luck with it! I have had extremely little time for radio operation this year (different levels of stress have kept me away from it, purposefully distracted with some other hobbies, too). But I hope to have some R&R time over the 'holiday' season and get some contacts in.

Sounds like a plan. I'm in the same boat. Lots of stuff going on in professional life. I moved in 2020 as well and haven't had time to set up the station again. Mostly QRP these days, when I get a minute to fire something up...

I just had my G5RV ripped down for the 3rd or 4th time by the wind now (I've had to repair one of the top legs, replace one entirely, have had to cut off & replace part of it's coax with a PL259/SO259 joiner). As it was starting to behave like one of the solder joints in the connectors was going bad lately, I think it's time to turn it in to parts and get a new one.

I'm glad I have an S9V 43 working, I hope it holds up through the winter.

    Hi everyone,

Are any of you participating in Winter Field Day? I'm bringing my old but reliable TS-440S and various antennas to set up at a local National Guard armory. We'll be in a nice conference room with a window to run coax
    outside.

I'll bring my TAK-tenna (https://www.tak-tenna.com/) that was given to me to try it out.

If you've never heard of Winter Field Day: https://winterfieldday.org/

I hope to get a newer radio soon so I can run digital modes again. They're great during contests.

    Hi,
I will be operating from home with a Sodabeams 20/40 band hopper and a Ts590S radio.
Will probably do mostly cw, but may mix a few ssb and digital contacts into my operation as well.

I will be on a distributed team with 3 or 4 other blind guys in FL and IN or IL depending on who commits to a slot.
