Does anyone in the group use SSTV or FT8, or may be even the older type of digitl modes live Olivia RTTY, PSK31 etc, that might be heard from VK land "Soutern States" "Victoria / Tasmania / South Australia etc.

I'm in Wisconsin, about 275km north of Chicago (Grid EN54). I use FT8 almost exclusively for DX contacts, and have hit Northern Territory, New South Wales, and Queensland a few times each. QF44 is the furthest south I've made a contact with according to my logs, which isn't too far from Victoria.
I'm guessing as the current solar cycle ramps up, it should get a little easier to hit those states in VKland.

Its been a litle while, but when the ISS is active with SSTV, I would
reveive SSTV images from it. The satellite and ISS stuff was the first thing that I got into with amateur as that is my military background (SATCOM). For amateur satellite stuff, I mainly use a Kenwood TH-D74A to RX and any other HT to TX, usually a Yaesu FT60R. I had a homebrewed Yagi that I was using for a while, but eventually just got an Arrow satellite antenna (split-boom with duplexer).

Haven't done any FT8 yet, but just got a a FT991A not to long ago, so probably will eventually get to that. I do some packet and AX.25 stuff, but just on 2m now such as APRS, WinLink, chat, etc. For TNC's, I have a Kantronics KPC-3+, MoblinkD TNC3, a couple SignaLinks, and a RPi running just DireWolf. Running
a Yaesu 8900R right now as an iGate for both 2m (144.390) and 6m (50.620) using a RPi and DireWolf. Eventually, I'd like to get Synchronet up and running on packet over HF.

It's doable but I don't know how feasible it'd be:

The ansi characters may throw users for a bit of a loop and you may be required to extend the login period to give those on HF an opportunity
to login prior to getting timed out... otherwise it should work.
