miss using that but MultiMail is doing the job "ok".

Back in the day I used SLMR/OLX for a while, but fell in love with Robomail which imported QWK packets into a database. It was awesome. I
no longer have my license and it seems a little picky working with some QWK packets today. So, although I liked MultiMail for Linux, I am currently using - and loving the navigation features - of BlueWave 2.30 for DOS! :-)

Hey! Happy to see there is still a community on active BBS(s)
Really loved downloading the latest shareware games from different
bbs(s) when I was a kid Looking forward to more lerking and hunting on
all these amazing BBS(s)
I used to spend HOURS every day calling many different bbs's just to get
the latest shareware games and follow up with all my messages.
i had a blast doing it....
Ahh, the good old daze! I, too -- I mostly liked te messaging aspects,
& the camaraderie in the LORD games (was as close to the old text adventure games I ever found)
I called 10+ boards/day in my heyday, all local, as they began dying
out post-Y2K, I branched out & called several other DOS-based boards
LD. At one point I was putting in 6,000 minutes/month of long distance modem calls!
I'm still RL friends with a couple sysops!
I realized I was sick of facebook a little while ago, & missing the easygoing chat/fun of BBSing & Fidonet, so talked to my one sysop mate about reconecting my old point, but he's bee out of the loop for a while,so referred me to the sysop of the taglined BBS below; I'm out of the loop, too, as I'm unable to get my point setup working. . .
I helped plan a big meetup/party at one point, for a multinode BBS I
was on. Great fun, including a massive water fight!
Did smaller GTGs at local bars, too. . . ahh, the good ol' pre-internet days. . . I still miss them.
I still have my trusty old DOS IBM 486 ready to be plugged in &
reconnect to the BBSes still accepting dialup!
I'm in a sub-burp of Vancouver, Canada. . where's you?
Your friend,

I'm on linux using MM. I'd have to create another user account for

On Linux I just run BlueWave 2.3 for DOS under DOSBOX-X. Should not interfere with your DOSEMU sessions. :-)
Oh, but for this actual post, I am running BlueWave 2.3 for DOS full screen on a Dell Dimension 3000 running Windows 98SE. :-) My son-in-law gave me his parents old Dell since they wanted to just "get rid of it".
So far it has been a little pain getting some things to run right due
to drivers - this box was made for Windows XP. But, as it only has
512MB of RAM it's a perfect candidate for Windows 98 for me. I did have
to buy a PS/2 mouse and keyboard (total about $20) since it has major software issues with USB - I may get those fixed later, but it's low priority. I also had to install a SoundBlaster PCI 16 card I bought
last year off ebay. Now, I'm just waiting for the final piece - a
proper video card coming later this week or next. Currently Windows 98
is stuck at 16 colors and 640x480 resolution - but DOS apps don't care <haha>. This has been fun to jump back and play with some old hardware/software. Once I get the video card setup my son and daughter
and I will be playing some old Win98 games.

I used to run 2 sessions of DOSEmu as one user but it caused DPMI
issues between the two sessions.

I'd suggest you just use DOSBOX to run the BlueWave client.

Full screen, true-type fonts, proportioned to fit on a wide
screen. DOSBOX-X rocks. I use it to emulate my old DOS
environment, even down to packet drivers running on top of NE2000
ethernet emulation and run old DOS TCP/IP apps in it.
Mostly, I'm running Qedit and VDE for DOS and Multimail, the same
way I used to read my mail offline in the dial-up days.
That shouldn't make much difference going IP or dialup. You should still be able to keep your same numerics.
Just an FYI, none of your messages that I see today here in Dovenet have
an origin line, which seems strange. Not sure if you've configured it
that way, or something is amiss. Just thought I'd mention it.
I noticed the same thing. The messages you've posted to DOVE-Net since July-1 appear to be missing the QWK tear/taglines. You doing something diff

My tear line should be back now.

It is. What'd you do?
I was the original member of net 218 still around. My node is like 25 years old! DAMNMy beginning was around 1995 where my local area code had like over 80 BBSes for people to visit. I think im the only bbs in my area code
now.
It's pretty shocking to look at some of the old nodelists. I remember needing to find a better archiver than ARC to make it fit on a floppy disk!
Region 10 had what seemed like hundreds of BBSes to call.
I've still got my Laser 386 sitting in storage, complete with Math Co-Processor, and thinking about resurecting it. Might be interesting.Might
have to wait till winter when things aren't as hectic around here though. Tried to bring up my original IBM PC but no luck. Worked fine when stored but now won't post. Some day I'll take a closer look.
