• Gifts for my father

From Ayane Kitagawa@VERT/ALLEYCAT to All on Mon May 31 17:10:58 2021
Well, my Dad's Birthday is in July and Father's Day (in Ireland) is next month so I am searching for ideas on what to get him! Last year I bought him a toy tank (from the 70s) and 2 casettes (our car has a tape deck).

He is in his 50s now so I try to buy him things that are more from the 70s/80s or that he once had/like (in this case the artists who made those casettes!

So, I suppose I am asking in a slightly rambling way, if you guys have any suggestions? Since I was born in 1999 I can only really think about the stuff that was popular in the 2000s and 2010s and anything really in the 90s and older is hard for me to get (especially in the realm of more non famous/ordinary things like toys and cultural aspects that haven't continued into the current era (such as Star Wars and the like). If you're wondering wh ythe tank, it was because it still had its original box in perfect condition and the old logo was also part of the nostalgia that made me decide to buy it for him.

He sounds to be near my age. When I was young, I really liked Matchbox
Cars, and Tonka trucks and cars. Viewmasters, too.

At one point, I had a toy VW Van, like the "hippies" supposedly had, but I don't know who made it or whatever happened to it. IIRC, it was plastic.
I had a metal VW bug, too. I think it may have been a Tonka toy.

What is his favorite band? Maybe get an old vinyl LP and make a clock from
it? You can usually get 'clock hands' at (here in the states) Hobby Lobby
    or Michaels...
