    No, it stems from (in our country) the FCC being able to send a field
    inspector to monitor your communications without the need to decrypt
    it... aka: lazy government people.

    Physically speaking? I'm sure. You *can* even encrypt data over amateur frequencies. It's the regulations about LoRa I'm unsure of.

    There was a group in NY that was using encryption for a while until someone reported them to the FCC... to which they received a cease and disist order. Personally, for administering remote systems I'm for encryption.
