    it seems duckdns is fading in and out where i might have to pay for no-ip.com for a year or
    two. :(

    If it is for personal use only, you can use Opennic for your ddns needs. The con is
    that their ddns only works in the OPennic name space, so you are not going to be able
    to provide services for people who is not using Opennic. If it is only for you, it
    works fine.

    i can give him a sub domain at bbses.info if his ip doesnt change all the time. even .synchro.net would work for him.

    For a long time I used Synchronet's DDNS service then pointed realitycheckbbs.org's CNAME to reality.synchro.net. Worked like a charm.

    My IP hasn't changed since I changed my modem.
