formaldehyde also is naturally in many foods and depending
on how you cook it, it can increase it. it's probably in
safe levels. if you cook to the correct temp it lowers it,
    also. -+-

Speaking of formaldehyde.. my mom struggled with irritations,
redness, flakes, scarring, etc on her scalp. Similar irritation
arose after handling a newspaper. For years, she never thought
much of it, except to wash her hands more often; washing her
hair tended to provide some relief on the scalp as well.

BUT, at one point, things just tended to get really bad on the
scalp. Early trips to the allergy specialist revealed nothing.
Typical shampoos to treat Psoriasis did not help.

One last visit to the allergy specialist provided a clue. It
appeared that she was simply sensitive to formaldehyde. Once she
shifted to a pure shampoo and soaps that contained no
    formaldehyde, the skin healed.

For many years my mom encountered similar skin irritations when
wearing new clothes. Over the years, she learned to always wash
anything before wearing - and that helped a lot. But she did not
understand the science behind it. Later, when she gravitated to
buying gently used clothing, the skin problems did not arise
either. But there was no known "connection" to formaldehyde at
    that time.

After the report from the allergy specialis came in, it was like
a big a-ha moment that suddenly made all those years of skin
    issues and make sense.

Yeah i developed a sensativity to it after working at a large company that manufactures cleaning products. it went away a few years later. i had bad breakouts on my hands.
